Laws of South Africa” is a member of the international Free Access to Law Movement (FALM) – http://www.fatlm.org/members/current/. The Law Library of the University of Pretoria, South Africa, has undertaken to place all South African National Legislation free on this website. The material is fully consolidated and constantly updated and includes both Acts and Regulations. The historical versions (also known as “point-in-time”) of all these documents are available on the website.  The service is still a work in progress and will take many years to complete, but we have finalized the consolidation over 270 Acts to date. The Acts and their Regulations that are to be found on the website are kept up to date at all times. The motivation behind the project was and is to provide all South Africans with free easy access to the Laws that govern their lives and their work. In addition we hope that anyone outside of South Africa with a need to read the laws of this country will also be able to find and use a reliable version. Those wishing to invest or trade with South Africa can consult our laws without having to go to lawyers for this material. For example the Labour Relations Act, The Companies Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the Employment Equity Act, Marriage Act, Environmental Management Act and so on, are to be found on this website, in a reliable updated form.
